Black Friday report

Three stocks owned,
Nortel - $3.01
Activision - $14.71
Amazon - $48.06

All went down a certain amount, got doubts about Amazon now since that comment on my last post. Going to sell right when it hits $49.00 again.

Activision I got no doubts on, it will come back soon.
Nortel, this was a bad play before, now its slowly moving back up to what I bought it at.

*Remember you never loose money until you sell a stock*

Since it was thanksgiving yesterday, Mad Money would instead have a show with Jim Cramer giving info on the stock markets. Here's some great info I feel invincible with. Before any professional investor purchases a stock, they read numerous filings, and listen to some conference calls. With internet being as it these days, content is everywhere in extraordinary amounts.

Do your research! Spend an hour each week researching a single stock and you'll be guaranteed success. Look at key info like gross margin on each product sold, and any insider info there. Compare it with other companies, pick out the best one. I'll be doing all these procedures and reporting how they go along. I'll see how what to exactly look for.

The gross margin Cramer talked about should be looked at by sector.

For cable companies like Comcast, its enterprise = value/subscribers
hotels gross margin = average revenue per room
airlines gross margin = average revenue per seat
store gross margin = last years vs. current years
resteraunts gross margin = last years vs. current years
tech stocks gross margin = gross margin per sale
financial stocks gross margin = net interest margin

Hope this helps.

For now any got some company's worthy of looking at? Comment them. Thanks

Xbox Launch Date recap!

Okay wanted to buy Under Armour stock, but from what I see it opened at a price a lot higher than the was. Now its not that hot, went down 10%. I'm no longer inclined to buy it, except it is gone down so it might be great to buy before it goes back up again. This will be on my watch list, and I won't be scared to chase after it starts rising.

As for my stocks, it's all great news. Remember I bought Amazon at $44.98. Well it was going down today, but then spiked up $0.86, after being down $0.65 all day! It reached over $49.00, and once it reaches $50.00 I'll be selling. It's made me some great money so far, and I'm not being a hog just trying to reach my goal. Jim Cramer last week was bearish on this stock, I went against his word and boy am I happy. Guess I should get my own t.v. show?

Nortel which I initially bought at $3.46 went down a fair bit to under $3.00, but now it's starting to rise slowly back up. It's had lots of positive news but its not budging. And for my final investment, Activision (ATVI), it was Xbox's release date but nothing to show. This company no doubt will come back up to $18.00, just needs to release a little more time with all its games coming out. Anyone got some input on these two stocks? Thanks

New stock purchase, Online Retailer Sector

Tuesday morning Amazon (AMZN) early in the morning was announced to have made in into the S&P 500. I decided to buy it, got it at a limit price of $44.98. It finished alright yesterday, but today it closed at $45.30. This stock moves a bit (what I like) as well is the biggest online retailer. That means big bucks for this Christmas Holiday Season. It's got all the Top Holiday Gifts, and I'm their affiliate online! Thats what makes me like them. Everyone should own this, it should be up to $48 soon. If not own it, at least check out the amazon and pick up your holiday gift purchases!

I gota vent a little about this TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage service. Each stock purchase/sell is $29.00. Ameritrade, E-Trade and many more services only cost $5-10 a single trade. So every stock I play with, needs to make at least $58.00, and the rest is my profit. While most stocks that I purchase tend to make $100. Then I stay and bam I'm down $60+. If your wanting to make a very diversified stock portfolio or day trading, this brokerage is not for you. What I do love with TD Waterhouse is their real-time quotes. These can get addicting to check all your stocks. It does assure you your getting the stock at a reasonable price.

Please leave comments on your input. And anyone got more info about Under Armour Stock? Will it be like Baidu IPO?

Recap for Monday November 14th

ATVI went up another 10 cents, closed today $17.09, hopefully higher tommorow. This is my one holding, as well as my other one which is NORTEL NETWORKS CORP (NT). It's just on a whirl wind down, whats happening, anythoughts on whether to hold or sell? It always has great news but never shows. But like I've once been told, you never loose money unless you sell!

My next move will trying to get my hands on the UnderArmour IPO stock, never got into an IPO before and am seeing it difficult. Thanks for reading, leave some comments.

Midday Report

Woohoo! Activision, Inc. (ATVI)'s going up, all the way to $17.00 for today, +0.31(1.86%). Not to late for anyone else to get in, this one sure looks like the prophecy of $20.00 will come true. I'm thinking of getting another 100 stocks for this. Great how things work out, it went down last trading day for me to buy low.

Recap for November 11/05

I woke up this morning and checked some stocks. The AIN stock I put with a $38.90 limit didn't go through. Next a stock I wouldn't mind having, was CIT GROUP INC (CIT). I put a limit order of 20 cents lower, at $49.05. It didn't go through either so oh well.

Next I was looking for some stock to buy. Whats gona be the hottest new item to be released for the christmas holidays (other than the Ipod Nano)? Well it's no other than the Microsoft Xbox360. It's going to be Playstation 2 craze of 2001 multiplied by 10!

It's release date is November 22nd, not to late to get your stocks. There's many stocks you can get that revolve around this item's frenzy. Microsoft's one, but lately it's been a little on the down side. What I bought is Activision (ATVI). It develops many games coming up for the Xbox 360, as well as for the PS3 due in Spring 2006. Jim Cramer was bullish on this yesterday, expecting it to hit $20.00. Today during the midday it went down a little bit, and I bought it for $16.81 with a limit order, and 100 worth of shares.

My stock purchase today.

Okay, its about 5 hours before the market opens.

Im going to purchase Albany International Corp (NYSE : AIN).
Now here are my reasons. It's got ton of press from the Wall Street Journal, as well it was given a long special mention on Jim Cramer. I'll put a limit order of a $38.92. Thats the price I'm willing to buy at.

I know I should be doing my own picks and not the ones Cramer does, but eh I'll let the master do it for today. I'm to lazy today as I setup this blog, and also been fiddling around with my amazing Ipod Nano. Hottest item for X-mas!

Two picks last night, IRBT & SNA (tsx)

Okay two things. So I listened to Jim Cramer last night and hurd about the IPO of Irobot Corp (IRBT). It was around 27.50, i decided to go and do an order. The next morning I see the stock went all the way up to $30, and my order didn't get filled. I raise the limit order to about $28.00, but still nothing! Well I come home, and see stocks at $34.50, darn me. What I've noticed about ordering stocks, is usually you'll want to do an order of over 100 shares as the brokers prefer that. As well in the case, the market order would have been worth it.

Second thing, is I live in Canada and its good for me to invest in Canadian stocks as I don't have the 2% deduction on top. Just this year, is it allowed us Canadians can get as much foreign stocks as we want, and not limit us to only 30% of our portfolio being allowed to be foreign. Well I read on my favorite stock forum, about SNA. It was getting lots of hype, $0.45 a couple days ago, and $0.54 yesterday. I waited to buy this stock. It had good news, and that's what made it rise. The volume increased tremendously that day. I was told by my stock guider (shawn) to wait another day and see the volume. Well today it went up to $0.59 (+11%), but the volume was 1/10, what gives? It closed on its high, could be a gapper opening higher tomorrow morning but probably not as of the low volume.

Well both stocks, not acquired, shame on me.

Decided to start a blog!

Greetings to everyone reading this. Let me first introduce myself. I recently got into stocks, after being inspired by their great potential, as well as them being very interesting. I encourage everyone to get into stocks sometime during their lives. Their fun, risky, interesting, and can obviously make you rich!

What really made it for me, was when I saw Mad Money with Jim Cramer. The energy, the whole feeling just got me pumped and made me have to get into this enourmous market industry. Jim Cramer has slowly grown to be my idol, hope to someday have as much knowledge as him! His book's amazing and I encourage a starter, or seasoned vet to read it. For the price of a shair of Cendant, you'll at least get something worth owning. Link also available on the sidebar.

For now I can dream, and slowly grow my portfolio.
